King-size coverage

For the past .. oh .. thirteen days or so, my mind has been a giant tumble dryer. A mass of wet, hot articles spinning, rising, falling. A combobulation of fabric getting more and more twisted and entangled with every turn.

Most normal loads come to an end with the individual articles separate and in tact. But as soon as you throw a duvet cover into the mix, inevitably the door will be opened at the end of the cycle to reveal that the duvet cover has managed to swallow up and completely encompass every other article in the load.

That is the cycle I am in at the moment.

There is a large duvet cover looming in the metal vat of my mind, threatening to surround every other thought that tries to get dry.

I could, however, work this to my advantage if I would swap my current duvet cover for a King-size one. For with a King-size cover to cover all of my cares, I could rest secure.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)
