Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the sheer content of the Scriptures. There is so much to take in, so much to remember, so much to strive for, so much to obey. Yet it struck me afresh the other day that the message of the gospel is actually quite simple.
Simply speaking, it is purely and utterly God’s unfathomable grace to us. Unfathomable, yet comprehensible enough for us to grasp at least enough to cling to with our very lives - with our souls for all eternity.
Once we have taken hold of this grace that surpasses all else, we spend the rest of our lives expressing the depth of our gratitude for this remarkable and unmatchable gift.
That’s it. God’s grace. Our gratitude. Best news ever.
